Inspired by the timeless elegance of nature, this workshop moves beyond mere representation. Under world-class guidance, you will learn to capture the "spirit" of exotic flowers, transforming a blank page into a vivid, breathing botanical masterpiece.

What to Expect

Experience two days of artistic growth in a professional and supportive studio environment. Students will:

  • Master the Medium: Explore advanced techniques such as wet-on-wet blending for soft petal transitions and dry-brush detailing for organic textures.

  • Structural Focus: Learn the botanical secrets behind painting vibrant flowers and understanding the geometry of nature.

  • Light & Layering: Discover how to use sophisticated glazing and color theory to make your flowers appear to glow from within.

 

All professional-grade supplies are included. This is a rare opportunity to elevate your artistic vision and bring the enchanting beauty of nature to life under a master's eye.

 

About the Master: Richard Chao (CHAO Tiejun)

Born in Xi‘an, CHAO Tiejun (Richard) is a renowned watercolour artist with solo and group exhibitions in Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia. Richard is regularly invited to carry out watercolour demonstrations, workshops and lectures around the world, and is presided as the judge for international art exhibitions.

 

Richard is a featured artist by the French leading international professional journal The Art of Watercolour, winner of over 60 major watercolour prizes during the last 5 years, among which First Prize in IWM - UK, A. J. Casson Award (First Place) in WSPWC 96th Exhibition - Canada, Mary Lind Award (Top Three) in NWS Member Exhibition - USA, and many others.

Richard is a master member of International Watercolor Society (IWS), a member of National Watercolor Society of America (NWS) and a signature member of Global Association of Watercolor Artists (GAWA). Richard hopes he can interpret his understanding of the self, the world, and the universe into his paintings.
