4 Students Selected for Year of the Horse, Sydney Lunar Festival 2026

We’re happy to share that 4 Welight students have been selected for the City of Sydney’s 2026 Lunar New Year Zodiac Painting Competition, celebrating the Year of the Horse.

Each year, young artists across Sydney are invited to create artworks inspired by the zodiac animal and the spirit of Lunar New Year. The selected works will then be displayed across locations in Haymarket as part of the city’s festive celebrations.

A big congratulations to our selected students, and also to all Welight students who participated. We saw so many thoughtful, unique, and expressive horse drawings throughout the process, and every artwork was special in its own way.
