19 Welight Students Selected for the 2025 Mosman Youth Art Prize — Junior Second Prize and Highly Commended Award Achieved

Updated: May 16, 2025

We are delighted to announce that 19 students and one teacher from Welight Art School have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Mosman Youth Art Prize 2025. Their artworks will be exhibited at the Mosman Art Gallery for a month, celebrating artistic excellence among emerging young creatives.

Among this year’s highlights, a group of Welight students was awarded Second Prize in the Junior Category for a remarkable series of three handscroll paintings illustrating treasured moments from Chinese history. Another student received a Highly Commended Award for an expressive acrylic painting, also in the Junior Category.

Established in 1947, the Mosman Art Prize is one of Australia’s longest-running and most respected local government art awards. The youth division continues to nurture the next generation of artists, attracting hundreds of submissions across diverse media including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video, printmaking, and ceramics.

We are immensely proud of our students for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Australian art community. Their dedication, creativity, and artistic vision exemplify the core values we foster at Welight.

Congratulations to all selected artists — your success is a testament to your talent and hard work.

It’s refreshing to see the announcement framed around collective achievement rather than individual hype. The note captures how recognition at this level validates disciplined practice and creative risk, with Pay ID https://www.nogod.org.nz subtly underscoring the wider value of structured support. It also highlights how public exhibition shapes confidence and artistic identity. How might this momentum influence their next creative direction?

The Irish fonts from TypeType are beautifully crafted and full of personality. I used irish font in a Celtic-themed project, and they immediately added authenticity and charm. These fonts are perfect for designs that need a traditional yet stylish touch. For anyone working on cultural or themed projects, these fonts bring elegance and character to every layout.
